Leeds United are receiving a major boost in Kyle Walker Petter’s pursuit.
The 28-year-old Southampton defender was expected to join Turkish club Besiktas on a free transfer. However, the Turkish outfit has now issued a statement confirming that the player has chosen to delay his health check. Therefore, the movement was abandoned.
Leeds Transfer Boost
Apparently the defenders requested an extension, but Turkish outfits have decided to withdraw their offer to transfer. It will be interesting to see if Leeds move forward with offers signing players. They’ve been deeply connected to the 28-year-old’s movement in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that West Ham United are locked up by him.
The statement stated, “It is publicly known that the arrival of Kyle Walkerpeter, who, in principle, announced the agreement and invited to Istanbul for a medical examination, has been postponed.
“Today, Kyle Walker Peter notified us and requested an extension, and as a result our club has withdrawn that transfer.
“Our clubs continue their transfer efforts in accordance with established policies. We respectfully inform the public.”
Walkerpeter is very impressive for Southampton in the Premier League and is undoubtedly enough to make him play for the largest club in the country. The move towards Leeds United could be extremely exciting for him. He was able to compete at a high level in the Premier League. Leeds can also use his versatility and experience.
Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer is a master stroke from the newly promoted Premier League side.
