AC Milan asked about signing Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund next season.
The Italian outfit aims to build a new strike duo with Højlund and Santiago Gimenez for upcoming campaigns.
Is Rasmus Hojlund set for the return of Serie A?
Rome also expressed interest in Hosilund following a request from manager Jean Piero Gaspelini. However, due to financial constraints, they can offer loan agreements with the opportunity to buy later. The movement will depend on whether Artem Dovbyk will leave this summer.
Manchester United are open to selling Højlund, which is looking to make changes ahead of time. The player wants to stay, but the club can sell him to modify his wage budget and follow the financial fair play rules. They are pending at a fee of around 45 million euros and are only looking for full sale, not loans or swaps.
Inter Milan was also interested in players, but after signing Ange-Yoan Bonny and focusing on the young talent Francesco Pio Esposito, they abandoned Højlund’s plans. Champion Napoli thinks of him as well, but they focus on Darwin Nuñez as their main target. If that deal doesn’t work financially, Højlund may be back on their radar.
Man United wants Ollie Watkins as an alternative
Information sources that are close to the player’s situation are notified Catch off side Højlund’s agent believes that returning to Italy is good for his career and he can “talk with the club” in Serie A. Once Højlund leaves, Manchester United can help chase Ollie Watkins as the new striker.
Watkins has extensive experience in the Premier League and he is a reliable performer on top flights. He was able to prove that it was a major upgrade to Denmark International. The 29-year-old was at the height of his career and he was able to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.
The Aston Villa star was more than just a goal scorer, he was able to change Manchester United’s attacking force. He is labelled as a “great player.”
