After officially announcing Lucas Perri’s arrival, Leeds United reportedly launched an improved bid to sign the eighth fresh face of the window.
Peri: Leeds drives “great opportunities””
When evaluating his team following last season’s promotion, the new goalkeeper would have been one of Daniel Fark’s top priorities following the struggles faced by Iran Messley.
So, names like Caoimhin Kelleher and Djordje Petrovic were both mentioned early in the transfer period, but only for both goalkeepers to seal their moves towards Brentford and Bournemouth, respectively. However, it didn’t finish the search for Leeds. They quickly focused on Peri, which was signed and delivered.
After putting the pen on paper, the former Lyon shotstopper told the official club’s website. “It was a really exciting moment for me. I was really, really happy that the club showed interest. It was incredible. I’m so happy to sign it here.
“From the video, I saw the goal celebration, especially this last game of the season was an away game, with a parade of the championship title and the atmosphere of Elland Road.
“I was really young so to watch the Premier League and see all the goalkeepers who were in the Premier League that had been successful in the Premier League, they were incredible goalkeepers.
“It’s a huge challenge for me and I think it’s a great opportunity. I’m really happy and focused on being the best version of me here. I want to see the fans and the stadium and feel the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, another priority is checked on the list, so the 49ers are aiming to ensure talented attack reinforcements.
Leeds launches “Improved” Paixao Offer
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds has launched a “improved” offer to sign Igor Paixao from Feyenord this summer.
Elland Road chief is currently pushing to secure trades as soon as possible, suggesting that Feyenoord is also demanding £35 million to sell the Starwinger.
However, negotiations may not be easier. As reported by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, the whites are ready to pay £28 million, but were unable to agree to sign Feyenoord’s South American winger.
£35 million may seem like a sudden rating, but looking closely at Paixao’s numbers suggests that he will more than pay it back in the form of goal involvement next season.
As the Brazilian completes the movement and continues to recreate his Feynorform at Elland Road, Fark soon has a new major amulet at his freedom.
