Aston Villa are interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thiago Almada.

The Spanish club are considering cutting down their squad in order to sign a new contract, and Fichajes says the Argentine is up for sale.

The player is valued at 25 million euros and it remains to be seen whether Aston Villa can complete the deal. They need more creativity and technical ability in the final third and Armada would be a great addition. He has the technical attributes to excel in the Premier League and is keen to establish himself as an important player for the West Midlands club.

The talented Argentine has not started regularly for Atletico Madrid this season and has only played 570 minutes for the first team. He needs to play more often to reach his full potential and a move to Aston Villa could be ideal for him, especially if they are willing to offer him regular opportunities.

Aston Villa have been in very good form this season, sitting third in the Premier League table. They are aiming to finish in the Champions League places and will need to strengthen their squad in January if they are to maintain their current form.

The 24-year-old would be a great signing for them and they have the resources to pay the asking price. An investment of 25 million euros could prove to be a bargain in the future.

Armada will also be excited about the new challenge. He is at the peak of his career and now is the perfect time to move to the Premier League. Aston Villa have a good team and a quality manager like Unai Emery who can get the best out of the South American midfielder.
