Chelsea is interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo this summer.

Levi Colwill has been ruled out after suffering serious injuries for several months, and Chelsea needs a quality defender. According to Fichajes, they are planning the move for the 26-year-old Barcelona star.

The Spanish club would be willing to consider the offer of around 50 million euros for him. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to make the South American deal.

Manchester United are keen to sign Araujo as well.

Araujo is enough for Chelsea

He has proven himself in Laliga and has no doubt the physicality and technical attributes to make it work in the Premier League as well. The defender is at the peak of his career, and this may be the right time for him to try new challenges.

The move to Chelsea may be attractive to him. They are one of the largest clubs in the world and have excellent projects. Chelsea have the resources to pay him 50 million euros too. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

The defender is versatile enough to operate in the center or side. His versatility would be an extra bonus for Chelsea if he can get the deal done.

Araujo plays for a big club and he knows what it takes to compete at the highest level regularly. He has won a major trophy against Barcelona, and his winning experience could be valuable to Chelsea’s dressing room. Aside from his qualities as a central defender, his leadership skills could also prove to be invaluable. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will follow up on their interest with their official proposal to close the deal.
