Liverpool attacker Mohamed Sarah was named Player of the Year for PFA Player last night.
Egyptian International ran an exceptional campaign last season at Liverpool, scoring 29 goals in the Premier League and earning 18 assists along the way. He also helped Liverpool win the league title. He was undoubtedly the best player in the country last season and was correctly selected for the prestigious award.
Alexander-Arnold shares social media posts
Sarah became the only player in his career to win three awards, and former Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander Arnold responded to his achievements on social media. The Real Madrid star shared a photo of Sarah holding the award and captioned “History.”
Alexander Arnold enjoyed a fruitful spell in Liverpool along with Mohamed Sarah
Alexander Arnold has developed a great partnership with Sara during his time at Liverpool, with the two players enjoying playing with each other on the right side. The English international defender created many goalscoring opportunities for Egypt International during his time at the Premier League club. It’s no surprise that he is pleased to see his former teammate during the prestigious award.
Meanwhile, the defender transferred Liverpool for free early this summer. His decision to leave his boyhood club for Real Madrid was not well with his fans, which has led to heavy criticism on social media. So far, his Real Madrid career has been rather mediocre and he has been criticized by the Spanish media for his defensive vulnerability.
He’s definitely a quality player. It will be interesting to see if his performance improves over the next few months and he will be able to keep up his Real Madrid career on track.
