  • Akanji is ideal for palace

Crystal Palace is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji during the summer transfer period.

The 30-year-old has linked his journey away from Premier League clubs, and the Eagles are interested in securing his signature. Swiss International should play more frequently at this stage of his career, and the London Club could be an ideal destination.

According to Ed Aaron, they are currently waiting for a decision from the 30-year-old defender to see if he is keen on the move. Acandie is also a target for Tottenham.

Crystal Palace can use Manuel Akanji

They require more quality and depth in their defensive units, especially using Mark Guehe, which is linked to exits from the club. The 25-year-old England International is the final year of his contract, and Crystal Palace is under pressure to sell him.

They need to replace him and signing a defender that the Premier League pays is a wise decision. Swiss International may be available for reasonable amounts. He is no longer an important player in Manchester City, and several other clubs are passionate about him. It remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace will be able to complete the deal. They’re watching other defenders too.

Crystal Palace has a talented team and they are looking to compete for the trophy this season again. They recently won the FA Cup and Community Shield. They have been playing in European football this season and need a better, deeper team.

Akanji has the quality and experience that will help Crystal Palace improve defensively. They can provide him with normal game time, and this move is also ideal for players. He won two Premier League titles against Manchester City and the Champions League trophy.

It remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace will currently be able to secure a reasonable deal with Manchester City.
