Journalist gives Man City hope to sign a 24-year-old winger

Man City will be busy in the final 36 hours of the summer transfer period, allowing at least one signature. Gianluigi donnarumma will be taking part in the event that Ederson is on sale, but another player remaining on the radar is that Real Madrid winger Rodrigo will go.

Rodrigo, who has been linked to Liverpool for the past few months, has appeared to be leaving Real Madrid this summer. However, he was expected earlier this season, reducing his chances of leaving before Monday’s deadline.

And according to Pete O’Rourke (via Football Insider), it’s very unlikely that Man City will sign Rodrigo this summer.

“Rodrigo’s contract looks very difficult. He’s back in Madrid’s starting lineup with Oviedo. I think he’s happy with Madrid as long as the players get a few minutes.

“I think the second half of the window is very unlikely that Man City will push to try and make a deal for Rodrigo. I think the only way Rodrigo’s move will happen, especially in a city where they appear to hold Sabigno, is to use that money to sign him in exchange for Real Madrid.”

Man City appears to be missing out on Rodrigo, but given he will remain in Real Madrid, there may be a chance to attack in 2026, especially if he is not a regular starter for the Santiago Bernabeu.
