Arsenal has been hit with a major injury as defender William Saliba stands on the sidelines for three to four weeks.
Before the Premier League clashes with Liverpool, the French international international receives an ankle injury, and the 24-year-old misses a match against Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Newcastle United in the Premier League. He will also miss a clash with Champions League athletic club Bilbao, according to L’Equipe.
William Saliba’s injury is a blow
The 24-year-old is undoubtedly the best defender at the club, and his absence would be a major blow to Arsenal. It would be interesting to see if they could get through a few weeks without him. Arsenal hopes to win a league title this season and will need to address the issue of injuries. They are able to properly improve their squad this summer and have enough depth to deal with the absence of French international.
Arsenal signed Piero Hincapie on the deadline, but it will be interesting to see if South Americans can fill in the blanks left by the French.
Arsenal must win a major trophy
Arsenal has been closer to winning a league title in recent years, but they have not managed to get past the line. Mikel Arteta puts a lot of pressure on offering the major trophies of this season after spending a significant amount of money since being taken over.
Arsenal has the highest net spending in the Premier League this summer, and fans are hoping for a pitch outcome.
It will certainly be difficult in future matches without their best defenders, but they have enough quality and depth to get the job done. Meanwhile, Saliba aims to quickly recover from ankle problems and return to action immediately.
