Swiss Krans Montana – South Africa’s Thriston Lawrence recovered from winning the Swiss European Masters in his fifth European Tour title on Sunday, shooting a 4-under 66 by making a bogey on the first three holes.
Lawrence has won Matt Wallace (67), Sami Verimaki (65) and Rasmus Hojgarud (62) twice.
Matt Fitzpatrick, who hopes to secure a captain’s pick from Luke Donald on Monday to join the European Ryder Cup team alongside Fujiguard, was alone in fifth place and shot one more shot after 67 years.
94th-ranked Lawrence, driving Green after a sloppy start, stabilized himself after drilling an Eagle putt from 20 feet on the sixth hole of the par 4, making five birdies at the picturesque Cransor Ciere golf club.
His latest title took place in June 2023 at BMW International Open.
