  • What’s next for Milan’s Reubenloftasteak?
  • West Ham & Aston Villa can offer a Premier Greeter

As the January transfer window approaches, AC Milan’s future of Rubenloftasteak has once again become the subject of serious speculation.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who set out for Chelsea for Italy in 2023, was a consistent Serie A performer, but recent developments could potentially make a comeback earlier than the Premier League returns slower.

The British midfielder has already scored one goal this season, playing in Milan four league appearances.

The situation at Loftus Cheek changed after Massimiliano Allegri arrived as Milan’s new head coach.

What’s next for Milan’s Reubenloftasteak?

Under the previous administration, the midfielder was tilted to leave Sansilo to attract interest from the UK. However, Allegri’s arrival added uncertainty. Because his tactical re-shuffle can either rejuvenate Loftus Cheek’s role in the team or reduce him to a spinning option.

The next few months could prove decisive in deciding whether he will remain in Italy or return to England.

West Ham United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa all closely monitor his situation.

In particular, West Ham and Villa are thought to be squeezing a concrete approach as Loftasteak as experienced midfielders who can strengthen their teams later in the season.

Meanwhile, Newcastle is said to maintain the tab, but has yet to solidify their interest.

Loftus-Cheek is currently tied to Milan until June 2027, but the club is expected to confirm its contract in early 2026. At that stage, they decide whether to extend his deal or sanction the sale to prevent a financial recession.

However, with Premier League clubs turning, Milan could be forced to make a quicker decision, especially if Loftasteek struggles to secure a guaranteed starting position under Allegri.

For players themselves, a return to the Premier League not only offers a fresh challenge, but also offers a chance to reestablish themselves in the UK.

At the age of 29, Loftasteak still spent years ahead a few years ago, and his versatility in the middle has become an attractive option for those looking to strengthen his depth.
