MADRID – Rafael Nadal warns about fake online videos that he offers financial advice and offers the risk of artificial intelligence.

The retired tennis great said Tuesday he never supported the online video or its message.

“I want to share this message of caution – it’s rare for my social media, but it’s necessary,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “I recently discovered fake videos in circulation on several platforms, along with my team. These are generated by artificial intelligence and show people who mimic my images and voices. In those videos, I misattribute my investment advice and suggestions.”

Nadal said it was “a misleading ad, completely irrelevant” for him.

He spoke about the challenges of society that learns to distinguish between reality and what is being manipulated, and “promoting the ethical and responsible use of technology.”

“Innovation is always positive when serving people, but we have to recognize the risks and act with critical thinking,” he said. “Artificial intelligence is a tool with great potential that can bring extraordinary advances in education, medicine, sports and communication. However, it can also create false content that can be misused, create confusion and deceive many people.”
