England manager Thomas Tuchel responded to some of the chants from fans during tonight’s World Cup qualifier win over Latvia.

The Three Lions won 5-0 away, sealing their place at next summer’s World Cup in America, but Tuchel admitted he had been given the whip by a traveling supporter.

The German tactician specifically criticized the fans for the lack of atmosphere in last week’s win over Wales at Wembley, but there was little reaction from fans who visited Latvia this week.

Watch below to see how Tuchel took it well, accepted it and insisted he respects their sense of humour…

England fans were shouting things like “Thomas Tuchel sings when he wants to sing” and “Is it okay to be loud?”, but the manager seemed to see the funny side.

Thomas Tuchel leads England to the World Cup – but can they keep going?

Tuchel hasn’t had a completely smooth year as England manager, but there is no doubt that his recent results and performances seem to be improving.

Overall, there is certainly a sense that things are starting to go well for the national team, but can Tuchel carry the team all the way to next summer’s World Cup?

England made huge strides under former manager Gareth Southgate, reaching the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 and twice appearing in the European Championship finals in 2021 and 2024.

The appointment of Tuchel would be a move to bring in a more experienced winner who could take the team another step forward, and it will be interesting to see what we see from him and his players in the US next summer.
