Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Crystal Palace, the Arsenal manager explained that Gabriel has developed into one of the best central defenders in the world. He also added that the Brazilian has a great mentality and a great attitude.

He is one of the main reasons why Arsenal are so good defensively. At the back, he has formed a strong partnership with William Saliba. On top of that, the Brazilian continues to perform exceptionally well. He was deadly for Arsenal in attacking set pieces and added a new dimension to their attack.

Manager Mikel Arteta said of Gabriel: “If you want a defender who can play in both boxes. I really like Gabby, one of the best centre-backs in the world. Gabby is unbelievable.”
