  • What Aston Villa need in January
  • Aston Villa officially confirm Aslani’s transfer

Aston Villa have reportedly officially announced their move to sign the Bundesliga’s talented attacker in 2026 ahead of interest from rivals Barcelona.

What Aston Villa need in January

Things are looking up for Aston Villa after a disastrous start, although they suffered a further setback on Thursday with a 2-1 loss to Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League.

Unable to win in their first six games in all competitions, they have now recorded just one loss in six games, with their last defeat coming in unexpected fashion. After a tumultuous summer surrounded by the future of key players and PSR issues, Unai Emery is finally getting his team back to top form.

Oh, there’s still work left to do. If the Midlands side can negotiate their way through the PSR issue, the January transfer window could be the perfect time to make up for a frustrating summer.

Emery has been forced to miss a number of goals and is currently dealing with a lack of depth in his squad to compete on all fronts, especially up front.

As with last season, it could be resolved with a number of potential loan deals. One of them is for Endrik. The Real Madrid wonder is reported to be set to leave the Bernabéu on loan in January, with Villa also among the clubs interested in signing him.

Emery benefited from the arrival of unpopular stars Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford last season and could be used again in a year’s time courtesy of Real Madrid.

The teenage star may not be the only player heading down that path. Now, reports claim that Villa are officially moving towards signing the Barcelona target.

Aston Villa officially confirm Aslani’s transfer

Aston Villa have officially moved to sign Fisnik Aslani from Hoffenheim, according to reports in Spain. The 23-year-old forward has had an excellent season in the Bundesliga so far, attracting interest from Villa and Barcelona as a result. Emery will be keen to sign him as it sparks an interesting race.

Since being described by scout Jacek Kulig as a “fantastic complete forward” last month, Aslani has scored a total of five goals in eight competitive games, four more than struggling Ollie Watkins.

If Aston Villa want to secure the future of their forward line, Aslani is their man. Beating Barcelona for his signature would be a huge move for the team, who head into 2026 after a frustrating summer transfer window.

A repeat of last season and the addition of an attacking star in January could turn Villa’s campaign around.
