Liverpool reportedly believe Crystal Palace central midfielder Adam Wharton wants to join the club despite his links with other top clubs.

The England international has established himself as one of the country’s biggest talents during his time at Palace, and it seems inevitable that Palace will struggle to keep him for longer.

Palace have a recent history of cashing in on star players if the deal is right, having sold Eberechi Eze to Arsenal this summer and Michael Oliseh to Bayern Munich the year before.

Indy Kyra now reports that they believe Liverpool are in a strong position to sign Wharton as he is keen on a potential move to Anfield, so take a look below…

The journalist claims that LFC want to sign two elite midfielders and Wharton is definitely one of them, while Alexis Mac Allister could also leave as Real Madrid appear to be preparing a January bid.

Wharton has also been linked with Manchester United by TEAMtalk, and we recently learned that Real Madrid are also considering the 21-year-old as one of their midfield targets.

Wharton clearly has a number of big names to choose from, so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool end up being his preferred destination, as they currently believe.

Of course, the Reds are likely to be seen as an attractive option, but it will also be interesting to see how this season continues under Arne Slott, who has been in poor form of late.

Palace are also not too keen on strengthening their Premier League rivals, so some may want to sell them to an overseas club if possible.
