  • Tottenham have approached Rodrigo about a move in January.
    • Jamie O’Hara joins Symonds in slamming Tottenham’s failures

Tottenham Hotspur have now been approached about a January move for Rodrygo, with new updates regarding the forward’s future at Real Madrid revealed.

Tottenham had made inroads to sign the Brazilian in the summer transfer window, but they ultimately missed out, with manager Thomas Frank instead bringing in Xavi Simmons, Randal Kolo Muani and Mohamed Kudus to strengthen his attacking options.

Kudus, the only new attacker with Premier League experience, has adapted well to life in north London, scoring one goal and providing five assists in 10 top-flight appearances, but it’s fair to say that the other two additions haven’t really hit the ground running.

Jamie Carragher suggested that Symonds in particular was finding it difficult to adapt to life in England, saying: “It was also very interesting for him and Florian Wirths, who are finding it difficult to get up to speed in the Premier League.”

With Kolo Muani yet to score his first goal for Spurs, Frank may now turn his attention to the January transfer window, at which point he may be offered the opportunity to sign a new forward with plenty of top-level experience…

Tottenham have approached Rodrigo about a move in January.

According to a report from The Boot Room, Tottenham have been approached about a January move for Rodrygo, and it has now been revealed that Rodrygo is once again considering his future at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Brazil international has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid this season and brokers have told the Lilywhites he could be available this winter.

Journalist Graham Bailey provided a further update on the situation, saying: “We have heard that Rodrygo is considering his options again, with a move to the Premier League being one possibility, which could become a realistic option in January. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on as we head into the new year.”

Despite being hailed as a “world-class superstar” by former teammate Luka Modric, the 24-year-old has struggled to feature in games so far this season, playing just 244 minutes in nine La Liga games.

However, the former Santos man certainly stole the show at times during the 2024-25 season, contributing 25 goals in all competitions and scoring five goals in 12 Champions League games, showing his ability to compete at the top level.

The Osasco-born forward hasn’t played much of a role in Xabi Alonso’s plans so far, but he remains an important player for Brazil, scoring twice in a 5-0 win over South Korea last month.

At this stage of his career, Rodrygo needs to be a regular starter and certainly has the talent to be a difference-maker for Tottenham amid the struggles of Simmons and Kolo Muani.
