RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Amanda Anisimova defeated No. 2 Iga Swiatek 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2 at the WTA Finals on Wednesday to advance to the last four.

It was the 24-year-old American’s second consecutive win against Swiatek, after losing to the Polish player 6-0, 6-0 in the Wimbledon final.

Anisimova, ranked No. 4, also defeated Swiatek in the quarterfinals of the US Open.

Anisimova made her first service break of the contest, taking the second set and seizing the deciding opportunity. She faced just four break points and saved each one.

Elena Rybakina, who had already reached the semi-finals, finished the round-robin phase with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Rybakina and Anisimova will find out their semifinal opponents after Thursday’s final round robin match. Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka will face defending champion Coco Gauff, while Jessica Pegula will face previously eliminated Jasmine Paolini.
