West Ham are expected to have a busy January as they look to add some much-needed additions to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad. The Portuguese will have a say in the process and hopes to be reunited with one of his former players at the London Stadium.
Apart from Jarrod Bowen, West Ham have struggled in attack, so it is expected that the club’s sporting department will work on those areas up front. An injection of pace could be coming, which is ideal for Adama Traore. Especially since the Spanish winger previously worked under Nuno at Wolves.
Adama Traore could reunite with Nuno at West Ham
West Ham have been linked with a January move for Traore in recent weeks, with manager Pete O’Rourke confirming there is a genuine interest in the Fulham player, according to Football Insider.
“I’m sure that’s something Nuno would probably want to explore. Traore probably enjoyed his best form under Nuno at Wolves from 2018 to 2021. I think there’s been praise from both sides, so potentially there could be interest in them reuniting at West Ham.”
“We know that West Ham will probably be busy strengthening their squad in the January market. They lack a little bit of pace on that front as well. So Traore will definitely go a long way to sorting that out too, and he’ll be out of contract at the end of the season.”
It will be interesting to see if West Ham are able to sign Traore away from Fulham, but he has been a regular starter for the majority of the season. They will want to avoid spending too much on a contract, given that other areas of Nuno’s squad also need to be addressed.
