Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Brazil, has confirmed that Chelsea’s Estevan has secured a spot in the 2026 World Cup. The 18-year-old has risen to prominence at Stamford Bridge since moving from Palmeiras for £29 million ($38 million) last summer.

When asked about Estevan’s participation in the upcoming World Cup, Ancelotti expressed confidence, stating, “I think so,” and praised the young winger for his performance, which includes three goals in five Champions League matches—highlighted by a remarkable solo goal in last week’s victory over Barcelona. “Estevan will play in the World Cup.”

Estevan made his debut for the Brazilian national team in September 2024 and has quickly made a mark, scoring four goals in just three recent appearances. With five goals in 11 games for Brazil, he’s solidified his place in Ancelotti’s lineup.

Ancelotti remarked, “He is a very special player,” noting Estevan’s immense talent and potential for further growth, despite his youth. He emphasized the importance of providing Estevan with consistent playing time to nurture his abilities.

Throughout the season, Estevan has participated in 11 Premier League matches for Chelsea, starting five of them.

Ancelotti appreciates Chelsea’s commitment to Estevan’s development, saying, “What helps is the physical side, tactical learning, and mental approach. He is progressing well at Chelsea.” He also highlighted the necessity for the national team to utilize such outstanding talent.

Fan Take: This news is vital for soccer fans as it signals the emergence of a new star in the sport, enhancing Brazil’s World Cup prospects. Estevan’s development could also signify a shift in power dynamics in international soccer, making the upcoming World Cup even more exciting to watch.
