Erling Haaland achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the quickest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, netting the first goal in Manchester City’s thrilling 5-4 victory over Fulham on Tuesday.

The striker’s goal in the 17th minute brought his total to 100 in just 111 appearances for the club, surpassing the previous record set by Alan Shearer, who hit the milestone in 124 games.

During his second season with Manchester City, Haaland recorded his 50th league goal in merely 48 matches, breaking the prior Premier League record held by Andy Cole.

Since joining Manchester City in 2022, Haaland has consistently been a prolific scorer. He won the Premier League Golden Boot in both of his first two seasons, scoring 36 and 27 goals respectively.

With this achievement, he becomes the 35th player in Premier League history to reach the 100-goal mark, and the first to do so since former Tottenham forward Son Heung-min in 2023.

Moreover, Haaland has contributed significantly to his national team, scoring nine goals in 17 matches as Norway aims for qualification in the 2026 World Cup, their first since 1988.

Despite Haaland breaking Shearer’s record, the legendary forward remains the all-time highest scorer in Premier League history with a tally of 260 goals.

This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the emergence of a new scoring powerhouse in Haaland, which could redefine how goal-scoring records are viewed in contemporary football. His continued success not only excites fans but could also raise the competitive stakes in the Premier League, inspiring future generations of players.
