  • Mason Greenwood achieved great success in France
  • Liverpool and Tottenham both want a versatile attacker

Mason Greenwood’s resurgence in France has reignited interest from the Premier League, with reports suggesting two of England’s biggest clubs are considering a bold summer move.

According to Ficajes, Liverpool and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the Marseille striker and are willing to meet a significant asking price to secure his contract.

Reports claim that offers in the region of £78m (€90m) could be considered, a figure that shows how highly valued Greenwood is now after two prolific seasons in Ligue 1.

Any deal could also have financial implications for Manchester United, who negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause for Greenwood when he left Old Trafford, meaning the Red Devils could stand to make a significant profit if Marseille agree to a sale.

The young attacker has scored 22 goals and provided eight assists for the French club this season.

Greenwood remains a deeply polarizing figure in English football and a return to the Premier League will almost certainly cause a strong backlash among supporters.

That background contrasted sharply with his experience in France. Since joining Marseille in the summer of 2024, Greenwood has been recognized solely for his sporting achievements, quickly establishing himself as one of the best attackers in the league.

After an impressive debut campaign, the 24-year-old has taken his game to the next level this season, contributing to 30 goals in all competitions.

The Reds are looking to revamp their attacking options and believe Greenwood’s goal threat and positional flexibility could add a new dimension.

Internally, there is excitement about the potential pairing of him and Hugo Ekitike, and it is believed they could form a dynamic partnership that can thrive in a high-tempo system.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are also looking for a forward who can consistently change the game.

Marseille are aware of the growing interest across Europe and will only consider a move if the valuation is met.
