Chelsea are poised to attract interest from the English quartet as members of the squad set their sights on leaving in January, according to reports.

Players who could leave Chelsea in January

Chelsea are preparing for a mini-tour in January as manager Enzo Maresca looks to clean up his bloated squad and free up valuable wage space at Stamford Bridge.

The most pressing situations involve ‘bomb squad’ members Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi, both of whom have been training apart from the first team all season.

Neither player is in Maresca’s future plans, but both remain stuck on Chelsea’s books after failing to secure their departures in the summer.

Sterling, who earns more than £300,000-a-week, spent last season on loan at Arsenal but failed to impress at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Man City winger joined Chelsea for £47.5m in 2022 with ambitions of competing for the Ballon d’Or, but his performances have fallen well short of expectations.

The Blues will be without him for several weeks.

His astronomical salary has been a major stumbling block in finding a suitable transfer destination, with Turkish and Saudi clubs previously rejected as Sterling prioritizes staying in Europe.

Mr. Disasi’s predicament appears slightly brighter.

The French defender, who joined from Monaco in 2023 for £38.5m, spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and recently made a surprise appearance for Chelsea’s Under-21s.

Lyon are in preliminary talks about a loan move in January to provide defensive cover during his absence from the AFCON, but Chelsea may prefer a permanent offer to avoid a return next summer.

Sterling and DiSasi are clear candidates to leave heading into the winter, but the same can be said for Cobham academy product Tyrik George.

Tyrik George ready to leave Chelsea in January

According to TEAMtalk, George is actively considering leaving Chelsea in January, frustrated by his lack of appearances under Maresca this season.

The 19-year-old Camden-born winger made his breakthrough last season, making 26 appearances in all competitions as Sterling’s de facto replacement.

However, his progress has stalled dramatically this season, making just two League Cup starts, two Champions League starts and just 143 minutes off the bench in the Premier League.

Summer signings Estevao, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho have all leapfrogged George up the pecking order, with Pedro Neto emerging as arguably Maresca’s most consistent wing option.

The teenager has not started a single Premier League game this season and his prospects in the first team are increasingly bleak.

Chelsea themselves are open to Georges leaving, with a potential move to sister club Strasbourg seen as the ideal solution.

The Bruco ownership group believes such a move will allow George to continue his development within the multi-club system while receiving regular first-team minutes under Liam Rosenior.

Any deal is likely to include a clause that protects Chelsea’s interests should George succeed in France. However, the Englishman’s ideal is to leave the club permanently rather than another loan, and several Premier League clubs are monitoring his availability after learning of his desire to leave.

Fulham remain keenly interested after their £22m signing collapsed on summer deadline day, with Leeds United, Everton and Championship side Southampton also interested in the striker.

The competition for George’s signature is already heating up, with George likely to step down in January.
