  • Bruno Fernandes says Bernando Silva is the most annoying
  • Why Fernandes and Silva frustrate opposing fans

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has made a surprising confession after naming the Manchester City star the most annoying player in the Premier League.

The Portuguese midfielder has openly admitted that his Manchester derby rival is even more frustrating to face on the pitch than he is.

Bruno Fernandes says Bernando Silva is the most annoying

Bruno Fernandes gave an interview to Portuguese media outlet Canal 11, where the conversation turned to his on-field reputation.

Fernandes, who is often criticized by rival fans for his behavior during matches, was asked directly if he thought he was the most annoying player in England’s top flight.

In a surprising turnaround, he named international teammate and club rival Bernardo Silva as the true holder of the title.

As quoted by Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt in X, Fernandes said: “My image on the pitch is of someone who is always complaining, but Bernardo Silva is more annoying than me! He’s politically correct, but I’m not! My problem is speaking with my arms.”

The light-hearted confession highlights the friendly rivalry between the two midfielders, who often play against each other in high-stakes Manchester derbies but play together in the Portugal national team.

Since joining Manchester United, he has become a game-changing player in terms of statistics, providing important goals and assists.

However, his body language on the pitch is often targeted by pundits and opposition supporters.

Critics often point out his tendency to throw up his arms in frustration when a pass misses, his frequent complaints to referees, and his obvious irritation when he makes decisions that go against the team.

United fans see this as passionate leadership and a desperate will to win, but neutrals often find his “always complaining” attitude annoying.

Manchester City’s playmaker has similar characteristics, so it’s no surprise that Fernandes chose Bernardo Silva.

Like Fernandes, Silva is a tenacious competitor whose outstanding technical skills are matched by an aggressive work rate.

The City star is known for his relentless pressing, his tactical fouls to break up play and his ability to get in behind opponents with relentless hurries.

Silva may not be as visibly demonstrative in his “arm swing” play as Fernandes admits, but his ability to frustrate defenders and chew out opposing players has made him a figure rival fan bases love to hate.
