Connor Girish, aged 19, is set to compete at Daytona next year, just weeks before making his debut in the Daytona 500. The Trackhouse Racing talent will be taking part in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona for the third time in his career. Girish will share driving duties in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R, alongside Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, and Frederick Vesti.

At 17, Girish won his first Rolex 24 race, driving Ella Motorsport’s 2024 LMP2 car, which also clinched the class victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in the same year. In 2025, he competed in the GTD Pro class with Trackhouse, finishing ninth in his class behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. However, 2026 marks his debut in the top-tier GTP class, giving him a shot at an overall win. He even participated in a November test session in a Cadillac, where he completed his first official lap.

Girish will be one of only two full-time NASCAR Cup drivers, alongside AJ Allmendinger, taking part in the 64th edition of the endurance race at Daytona. Fresh off a near-miss in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship, where he won 10 races, Girish is widely regarded as one of NASCAR’s brightest up-and-coming talents. He is poised to begin his rookie Cup season in 2026, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing.

Fan Take: This news is exciting for NASCAR fans because it highlights the growing crossover between stock car racing and endurance sports car racing, showcasing the versatility of emerging talents like Girish. His involvement in prestigious endurance events could elevate his profile and bring more attention to NASCAR’s next generation of stars, potentially attracting new fans to the sport.
