Joe Rodon has been an important player for Leeds United since joining and has opened up about his past situation at Tottenham Hotspur.

The player has struggled to get regular opportunities at the north London club and revealed in an interview with The Athletic that he felt like a new car stuck in a garage for four years at Tottenham. But he now feels rejuvenated and fresh at Leeds United.

Joe Rodon talks about Spurs spell

“Then I’m going to Spurs and I’m thinking of it like buying a new car. I felt like I was in the garage for four years and never got used to it. I feel fresh at Leeds now. It’s been non-stop for the last three years, but I feel fresh. It’s like I’m getting back what I missed in that period.”

He will aim to play regularly for Leeds next season. Rodon is an essential asset for the newly promoted team, and it remains to be seen whether he can safely lead the team this season.

The Wales international defender has barely featured during his time at Tottenham, but the cruel verdict suggests he is relieved that his nightmare at Tottenham is over. It will be interesting to see if he can establish himself as one of the most reliable defenders in the Premier League right now.
