Juventus join a growing list of clubs tracking Marcos Senesi, with the Bournemouth defender reportedly emerging as one of the most interesting defensive opportunities ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

According to Matteo Mollet, the Serie A giants are currently actively monitoring Senesi’s situation as they look to strengthen their backline with a natural left-footed centre-back.

The 28-year-old has had his name dominating transfer rumors over the past 48 hours, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid linked, with interest from several Premier League teams as well.

This increased attention is largely driven by Senesi’s contract situation. His contract with AFC Bournemouth expires at the end of the season, but as of now no agreement has been reached for an extension.

Marcos Senesi is an in-demand defender

The appeal for Juventus is clear. The Bianconeri are keen to improve the balance of their defensive unit and have prioritized signing a left-footed central defender who is comfortable operating in the high line and can build play from the back.

Senesi’s profile fits that description well. Strong in duels, calm in possession and with experience at national and international level, he is seen as a player who could easily move into Serie A.

A defensive restructuring is expected at Turin over the next 12 months, with the club seeking market opportunities that combine quality and value.

Senesi’s expiring contract makes him particularly attractive, and Juventus could try to negotiate a lower price in January or position him for a free transfer in the summer.

From Bournemouth’s perspective, the situation presents a dilemma. Losing a key defender for no reason would be far from ideal, especially given Senesi’s emphasis on team structure and leadership at the back.

But convincing him to commit to his future will not be easy, given the growing interest from Europe’s elite.

Bournemouth hope to resolve his future quickly, either by securing a contract renewal or sanctioning a sale.

Interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid shows how highly regarded Seneci is across the continent, although Premier League clubs continue to see him as a proven and reliable option at the top level.
