Max Holloway’s iconic winning streak started exactly 12 years ago today. Known as one of the UFC’s most beloved fighters and an all-time great featherweight, Holloway overcame a challenging start to his UFC career to reach the top.

“Blessed” made his UFC debut in 2012 and had a balanced 3-3 record in his first six fights. Despite setbacks against Dustin Poirier, Dennis Bermudez, and Conor McGregor, Holloway elevated his performance. On January 4, 2014, following a loss to McGregor in Singapore, the Honolulu-born fighter bounced back with a victory that began an incredible run of 13 consecutive wins.

At UFC Fight Night 34, the UFC’s first event in Singapore, Holloway made a strong impression by defeating Will “The Kill” Chope with a devastating second-round TKO. After escaping Chope’s clinch, Holloway unleashed a fierce attack that knocked out Chope and finished the fight with ground strikes, earning him the knockout of the night bonus. This victory marked the start of a remarkable streak that included claiming the undisputed featherweight title by defeating Jose Aldo at UFC 212.

Looking ahead to 2026, Holloway is scheduled to defend his BMF title for the second time and will face Charles Oliveira in a highly anticipated UFC 326 main event on March 7th. Beyond his current fights, Holloway has expressed interest in big, cross-division matchups, even hinting at a heavyweight superfight. Dana White recently dismissed rumors of a White House fight, but Holloway revealed his dream matchups include facing Jon Jones and current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

Fan Take: Max Holloway’s sustained excellence and commitment to challenging himself keep fans excited for the future of MMA. His potential superfights and title defenses could redefine divisions and elevate the sport’s global appeal even further.
