  • Roy Keane talks about worries about Arsenal vs Liverpool draw
  • Can Arsenal keep their cool in their title pursuit?

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has suggested Arsenal look nervous against Liverpool tonight and that will be a “worry” for manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners had a chance to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League on the night, but they were held to a 0-0 draw by the Reds.

It hasn’t been a great season for Liverpool so far, but they looked very solid at the Emirates Stadium, frustrating the home crowd and Arsenal having to settle for just one point.

Arteta’s side are still six points behind Man City and are far from a crisis, but Keane feels both the players and the crowd are nervous, which doesn’t bode well given the tougher games ahead…

Speaking after the match, Keane was a pundit on Sky Sports and said: “Arsenal was probably a little bit… there was a little bit of tension in the stadium.

“Liverpool are not in a great situation, if they keep winning they will have a difference of X points…”

“If you’re in the Arsenal dressing room afterwards, I don’t think it’s great, but you take the point and move on.

“It’s great to be in the lead, but the performance was a bit tentative and that will be a worry for the manager. We obviously have big games coming up and it’s obviously going to be more nerve-wracking as we get closer to the end of the season.”

Can Arsenal keep their cool in their title pursuit?

Arsenal haven’t won a Premier League title since 2004, so it’s inevitable that fans and everyone involved at the club are feeling a little nervous.

Still, he definitely needs to do better in big games like this if he’s going to get over the line after some recent near-misses.

Arsenal lost away to Liverpool earlier this season, could only manage a draw against City at the Emirates, and drew away against Chelsea when they were down to 10 men for the majority of the game.

Arteta will be hoping his players can bounce back from this and show a bit more confidence rather than freeze up at a really important moment in the second half of the season.
