Arsenal right-back Julian Timber has suggested he is fit and could feature in the upcoming Champions League final.

The Gunners are due to play Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest in a week’s time, with Mikel Arteta hoping to win another trophy after winning the Premier League title this season.

However, Dutch international Timber proved to be one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers before injury forced him to miss most of their title bid and could be a key player.

Ben White replaced Timber for a while but is now injured, so Arteta will be desperate to get Timber back to face PSG.

See below. Timber spoke to the press about his fitness. The 24-year-old seems quite optimistic that he will make it in time for the final…

It seems a little too early to know for sure whether he will start that game or not, which could be a big selection headache for Arteta when deciding on his starting XI for the final.

Cristian Mosquera is primarily a centre-back but can also play on the right wing, so he might be the best option, but he is a little young and inexperienced in a game of this size.

The reality is that there aren’t many other options for the AFC, and Arteta is unlikely to risk testing the likes of Riccardo Calafiori or Christian Norgaard in new positions for the first time in such a big game.

PSG have a lot of attacking threats on the left flank and Huviča Kvaratskhelia is likely to be one of the key players to watch in the final, so it will be vital for Arsenal to have a right-back who can handle the tricky Georgian winger.
