Crystal Palace have decided not to sack manager Oliver Glasner despite being dissatisfied with his recent public abuse of the club’s hierarchy.

The Austrian manager’s future was thrown into doubt after he accused the Palace board of abandoning the team after Saturday’s 2-1 away defeat to Sunderland.

Glasner’s frustration came to a head after club captain Marc Guehi was sold to Manchester City just 24 hours before kick-off.

As a result, there was speculation that the Eagles would fire their coach. However, according to the Telegraph, Crystal Palace’s board have held talks with the Austrian and are hopeful that the manager will fulfill the remainder of his contract with the club.

Despite currently without a 10-game win streak, Palace’s leaders remain mindful of the transformative impact Glasner has had since arriving in February 2024.

His tenure has been defined by historic success, most notably leading the Eagles to their first-ever major trophy by winning the FA Cup in 2025.

Statistically, Glasner holds the club’s best winning percentage in Premier League history.

It has been decided that he will leave the club in the summer as part of Manchester United’s circle.

Although he will remain at Selhurst Park for the time being, Glasner has already confirmed he will leave the club in the summer. This put Manchester United on high alert.

The Red Devils are reported to have identified Glasner as their top candidate to take over as manager permanently in July 2026 following the dismissal of manager Ruben Amorim.

Interim manager Michael Carrick is currently in charge at Old Trafford and Glasner will be available as a free agent in the summer, making him a very attractive option for the INEOS-led sporting department.
