Ottawa, Ontario (AP) – Linus Ullmark recorded 26 saves in his debut game since returning from a break on Dec. 28, helping the Senators secure a 4-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. Brady Tkachuk contributed with one goal and two assists, while Tim Stutzle added a goal and an assist. Dylan Cozens also scored his 100th NHL goal, marking an impressive milestone for him. Ottawa has now won three consecutive games.

For the Devils, Timo Meier scored, and Jake Allen made 30 saves, but they suffered their third loss in four games. The team was missing Jack Hughes, who has been out due to a lower-body injury. The Devils are set to face Columbus at home on Tuesday, while the Senators will visit Pittsburgh on Monday.

Additionally, retired NFL quarterback Eli Manning attended the game, where he handed out gift certificates during an in-game promotion celebrating Quarterback of the Year.

Cozens’ goal on the power play marked his 100th career NHL goal.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published on Jan. 31, 2026.

Fan Take: Wins like Ottawa’s demonstrate the rising depth and resilience of the team, which fans hope will translate into playoff success. The milestone for Cozens highlights the individual achievements that continue to add excitement and storyline depth to the NHL season.
