Darnold is the betting favorite after a breakout season in Seattle. In the NFC title game he completed 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns, and in the divisional round versus the 49ers he was 12-of-17 for 124 yards and a score.
That NFC Championship performance helped Seattle overcome Matthew Stafford, who himself finished 22 of 35 for 374 yards and three touchdowns.
Drake Maye sits second on the board despite an uneven postseason; quarterbacks often remain MVP candidates regardless. In the Patriots’ divisional-round win over Houston he went 16-of-27 for 179 yards, three TDs and an interception, and he also lost two of four fumbles. In the AFC title game Maye completed 10 of 21 passes for 86 yards and added 65 rushing yards and a rushing TD.
Third and fourth on the list are two of Seattle’s most dangerous playmakers: JSN and Walker. Across two playoff games, Smith-Njigba has totaled 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Walker III has rushed for 178 yards with four rushing TDs and added 78 receiving yards.
Fan take: The MVP betting market highlights which players have carried their teams into the spotlight and could cement legacies with one big game. Whoever wins Super Bowl MVP will not only boost their own reputation and marketability but could also shift offseason narratives about team building and personnel priorities.
