Inter Milan needs to sell Nicolo Barella
Barella has been a member of Inter Milan since 2019. The 29-year-old is not only one of the main players, but is also widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football. He prefers to play as a central midfielder, but is capable enough to play any role in the middle of the park.
He was one of the first names on the team sheet and still has over three years left on his contract. However, the Italian midfielder could be set to part ways with Inter Milan this summer. Early withdrawal from the Champions League would be a huge financial blow. In order to make ends meet, the Serie A giants are willing to let go of their most valuable asset.
Premier League duos vie for Barella
Barella is expected to be signed, with Inter Milan reportedly seeking around 70 million euros for the midfield general. Manchester United and Newcastle United have been floated as potential transfer destinations. Both clubs are looking for quality and depth in their midfield and the 29-year-old could definitely help their cause.
The Red Devils want to bring in someone who can control the tempo well, and with Casemiro set to leave the club at the end of the season, Barella’s experience could come in handy. Newcastle already have some top-level midfielders in their squad, but are looking to further strengthen their midfield rotation.
Both English clubs continue to monitor his situation closely. Meanwhile, Inter Milan are hoping a bidding war between Premier League clubs will drive up the final price.
