The Mexico international has had a mixed career so far, but overall he looks like a good option to strengthen Leeds’ front line.
According to Football Insider, Leeds and Sunderland have previously had an eye on Jimenez and are now expected to renew their interest in him.
It remains to be seen whether Jimenez will definitely be on the move, but as he hasn’t been completely convincing to Milan, he could probably be a player they could realistically sign in the near future.
Santiago Jimenez transfer could be worth a gamble for Leeds United
Jimenez has scored 99 goals in his career for club and country, with his best form coming during his time at Feyenoord.
The 24-year-old has scored just seven goals in 30 games during his two seasons at Milan, but he scored 65 goals in 105 appearances during his spell with the Netherlands.
It remains to be seen how Jimenez will fare in the Premier League, as he has a pretty impressive record with six goals in 46 appearances for the Mexican national team.
However, LUFC need a striker and cannot afford to be too picky, so if this deal can be done on the cheap, it could be a decent business just to strengthen the depth of manager Daniel Farke’s squad.
