  • Tottenham have a clear list of candidates to replace Igor Tudor
  • Tudor couldn’t clean up Thomas Frank’s mess
  • Who should Tottenham bring in next?

Tottenham are reportedly preparing to sack caretaker manager Igor Tudor after a disastrous start to the season that left them in a desperate battle to stay in the Premier League.

Just three weeks into his role, the Croatian faces sacking following three successive defeats against Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace.

The ranks at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are becoming increasingly panicked, with the club currently sitting just one point above the relegation zone.

With only nine games remaining in the season, the board is considering a ruthless second managerial change.

Tottenham have a clear list of candidates to replace Igor Tudor

A prominent X source reported that the club is already looking beyond Tudor.

In a post about X, he said:

“Spurs have a clear list of candidates to replace Igor Tudor as manager. There is no way Spurs will be relegated. It would be the worst thing to ever happen to the club.”

Tudor is expected to take charge of his side in Tuesday’s Champions League game against Atletico Madrid, but he is at risk of being sacked.

Tottenham are reportedly looking to sign a manager who can play immediately in order to avoid dropping out of the Championship for the first time since 1977.

Tudor couldn’t clean up Thomas Frank’s mess

Tudor was appointed in mid-February to steady the ship following the sacking of manager Thomas Frank, who left the club in 16th place following a disastrous 2026 defeat.

However, the club has overseen an even more alarming decline under the Tudor regime.

Spurs’ new manager has been plagued by player anxiety, reportedly banning five senior players from training, while his tactical decisions have been questioned by experts.

Tudor took over a team that had not won a league game since late December and failed to pick up a single point, making it one of the worst managerial changes in the club’s history statistically.

Who should Tottenham bring in next?

Former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is at the top of the club’s shortlist.

According to reports, Spurs are already in talks with the Italian player, who is currently a free agent.

De Zerbi is also Manchester United’s main target, but Tottenham hope an immediate return to London and the challenge of rebuilding will lure him.

However, it is understood that De Zerbi will only commit to the role if Spurs can guarantee their Premier League status, a task that looks to grow more difficult with each passing week.

Perhaps the Spurs should turn to the recently waived Sean Dyche. He has built a reputation for intervening at clubs on the brink of relegation and helping them survive.
