PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Will the storm affect the final round of the 2026 Players Championship?

Play is underway at TPC Sawgrass on Sunday, with sunny skies and a breeze that’s making players think twice about some shots. That will be the case for most of the final round.

But in the final stages, the weather could be a factor for the leaders.

As the day progresses, the chance of storms continues to increase, with a 30% chance of thunderstorms at 4pm, increasing to 50% chance of thunderstorms by 6pm, the scheduled end time of the final group.

There was a 21-minute delay in the first round on Thursday, and last year’s playoff between Rory McIlroy and J.J. Spawn was postponed to Monday due to weather delays during the final round.

What will happen by Sunday? We’ll have to wait and see. Ludwig Aberg holds a three-stroke lead over Michael Thorbjornsen with 18 holes remaining.
