Journalist Ekrem Konur reports that although the summer transfer window is still several months away, the Blues are reportedly moving towards signing Barco from fellow Blueco club Strasbourg.

A reporter writing for today’s X said the deal was almost completed thanks to smooth negotiations between the two clubs, who clearly have a good relationship as both clubs are part of the BlueCo group led by Todd Boley and Behada Egbali…

Chelsea fans appear to be starting to get excited about the deal as a deal could happen soon, but the story comes just days after Fichajes linked the 21-year-old with the west London giants.

Will Valentin Barco move to Chelsea to replace Enzo Fernandes?

A lot can change between now and the summer, but perhaps Barco is being targeted to replace Enzo Fernandes with his future at Stamford Bridge in doubt.

According to Simon Phillips, five clubs are eyeing Fernandes, with one source even suggesting there is a 99% chance the Argentina international will leave CFC this summer.

When we recently analyzed the transfer from Barco to Chelsea, the Transfer Fit rating system gave him a score of just 13/25, but now we can improve that score a bit…

While Fernandes’ departure increases Chelsea’s ‘team need’ for the player, smooth negotiations also suggest they can acquire this promising young talent at a favorable price, so we give him an extra point by rating him 17/25.

Chelsea previously used their links with Strasbourg to bring in Liam Rosenior as manager, while Emmanuel Emega will join the Blues from the Ligue 1 club next season.
