The 27-year-old from South Korea has two PGA Tour wins on his resume, but it’s been four and a half years since his last title at the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open. Since then, Lim has completed a short period of mandatory military training in his home country and is recovering from a wrist injury.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the lead like this, so I’m sure I’ll be nervous,” Im said on Saturday. “But the best thing I can do is just play my game.”

Right behind Im at 9 under are two other surprising candidates. One is a U.S. Presidents Cup captain with nine career championships but hasn’t found the winner’s circle since 2018. and David Lipsky, who has yet to win a PGA Tour title.
