Tiger Woods to return to action at TGL as Masters approaches

Tiger Woods is scheduled to make a tentative return to competitive action when he plays in the TGL Golf League on Tuesday, weeks after the 15-time major champion said April’s Masters was “unthinkable.”

The 50-year-old underwent disc replacement surgery in October, the latest in a series of surgeries and injuries that have kept the American great away from top-level competition since the 2024 British Open.

Woods will play as Jupiter Lynx in the TGL final, according to the Indoor Simulator League, which combines players and technology from the PGA Tour.

Woods has won five Masters titles, most recently with an epic victory in 2019 that ended an 11-year major championship drought.

He suffered severe leg injuries in a 2021 car accident.

The 2026 Masters at Augusta National will be held from April 9th to 12th.

In a speech last month, he didn’t rule out playing in the Masters.

He said he has progressed from practicing chipping and putting to hitting full shots.

“I’m continuing to train, trying to get stronger, trying to further increase the endurance of this body, trying to get it to a level where I can play at the highest level again,” he said.
