LPGA’s Korda sisters weigh in on older brother Sebastian’s ‘pure’ golf swing

Sebastian Korda, who recently defeated world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz at the Miami Open, doesn’t keep score when he plays golf. Sisters Nellie and Jessica gave their thoughts on their brother’s golf game during a pre-tournament press conference at the Ford Championship earlier this week. This will be Jessica’s first official LPGA start since 2023.

“His swing is very pure. It’s short and compact,” Nelly said.

And Jessica is famous for being left-handed.

Sebastian Korda (USA) poses with the trophy and his family after defeating Tommy Paul of the United States in the men’s singles final of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Tennis Center on February 22, 2026 in Delray Beach, Florida.

Earlier this year, Sebastian won his third ATP title at the Delray Beach Open, and his entire family was there to watch. Like his sister, Sebastian has battled many injuries throughout his career, most recently suffering a stress fracture in his right shin. He is currently ranked 36th in the world.

Jessica, a six-time LPGA champion, took a hiatus from the tour in 2023 due to a lower back injury. After that, I gave birth to my first child, so my medical leave turned into maternity leave.

Sebastian and Nelly are engaged, the Korda family continues to grow, and Sebastian plans to get married first. Nelly’s wedding is scheduled for 2027. Sebastian, 25, is the youngest of Petr and Regina’s three children. Jessica is the oldest at 33 years old and Nelly is 27 years old.

This season, Nelly started two games and took first and second place, winning his 16th LPGA title at the weather-shortened Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She is currently number 2 in the world.

As for Sebastian’s golf, Nelly said she almost gets angry at how good her brother is, even though he doesn’t think he’s ever taken lessons.

“It’ll be interesting to see how good he gets if he actually takes it seriously and keeps score and really gets into his technique and does things like chipping around the greens,” Nelly said. “I think he’s going to be really good. I think he’s the most talented out of all of us with his hands.”

Jessica added that her brother sometimes gets bored and tries to cut and hit a 7-iron from 130 yards from the middle of the fairway.

“Yeah, he just likes to shape the ball crazy, like he does high draws,” Jessica said. “So for him it’s not about keeping score, it’s just about having fun and being relaxed and hitting shots.”
