The talented 21-year-old is quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects, attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona.

This is according to a report from Fichajes, who added that the Red Devils hope to put themselves in a good position to sign Schjerderup by going forward with a €60 million offer to Benfica.

United could have added a little more spark to their attack this summer. Matheus Cunha has yet to perform at his best since his move to Old Trafford, while Brian Mbeumo’s form has declined a bit as the season has progressed.

Andreas Schjelderup’s transfer to Manchester United is likely to be a player to watch

It was thought that Schjerderup was highly likely to move to the Premier League, having attracted interest from some of England’s biggest clubs for several years.

O Jogo had previously named the Norwegian international as a target for Liverpool, but Goal also reported that the player had trials with big clubs such as Bayern Munich and Juventus when he was 17 years old.

Schjerderup is now more experienced and has proven himself at the highest level, so it may be the right time for MUFC to bring him on as a key player.

Capable of playing in a variety of attacking roles and possessing natural skill, flair and intelligence for the game, it’s easy to imagine Schjelderup becoming a big hit with United fans if he continues to fulfill his huge potential.
