Liverpool may struggle to sign RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande, it has been reported, with the club hoping to reward him with a new contract as a reward for his impressive performances.
The talented young Ivorian international has emerged as one of the most exciting up-and-coming stars in the game at the moment, and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he lands a big move.

It has been reported that Liverpool are working on signing Diomande to replace Mohamed Salah, who is set to leave Anfield this summer.
But see below. Journalist Philipp Hinze wrote for X about how Leipzig are doing their best to keep Diomande. Even if we admit that he is not an unsold player…
“Yang Diomande: Leipzig are planning to reward his outstanding development with a contract adjustment with performance-related salary increases. There is no release clause in the contract yet. Leipzig would like to keep him for another season, but the Ivorian is not unsellable. The price starts at 100 million euros and is rising,” Hinze posted.
Yann Diomande’s move looks ideal for Liverpool
Diomande has shown immense potential during his time in the Bundesliga and it’s hard to imagine that he won’t become one of the top attacking players in world football soon.
The 19-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided six assists in all competitions for club and country this season, which appears to be the kind of quality LFC need in Salah’s replacement.
Liverpool spent a lot of money on new players last summer without success, so it could make sense to add more reinforcements in that area to compensate for the lack of impact of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirths.
However, one concern is that other clubs will be involved, with Sky Sports recently reporting Diomand as a Manchester United target.
