  • Manuel Ugarte has many suitors as Manchester United set asking price
  • Galatasaray, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also monitoring Ugarte’s situation.

Manchester United are open to selling Manuel Ugarte this summer, with the midfielder struggling to establish himself under the current system, pushing for a move.

The 24-year-old, who joined from PSG in 2024 on a contract until 2029, has endured a frustrating season at Old Trafford.

Ugarte has made just 21 appearances in the Premier League and has failed to cement a place in the starting XI, with sources saying he is not considered a natural fit in a 4-2-3-1 set-up.

Sources told CaughtOffside that Ugarte’s desire to leave is well known within the company.

The Uruguay international had explored the possibility of a loan move during the January period, but that move was blocked by the club.

However, the situation is evolving and a permanent exit is becoming more likely.

According to CaughtOffside sources, Juventus are currently leading the race to sign Ugarte, with interest dating back to his time at Sporting CP.

As the Italian giants ramp up their plans for the summer season, sporting director Marco Ottolini has been personally following the midfielder in recent international matches.

A move to Serie A is seen as a strong possibility, but whether Juventus can complete the deal will depend on Champions League qualification.

Manchester United are thought to value Ugarte at around €40 million, although his current estimated market value is closer to €30 million. His annual salary is said to be around 4 million euros net per year and is not expected to be an obstacle for interested clubs.

Galatasaray, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also monitoring Ugarte’s situation.

Galatasaray have also re-entered the race to sign Ugarte and are prepared to offer him a key role as part of their ambitious Champions League project.

The Turkish giants are willing to guarantee the midfielder the regular minutes he lacks in Manchester, and that could be decisive in his final decision.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also closely monitoring the situation, while Ajax and Sunderland have also been linked. However, the latter option is currently considered unlikely.

With multiple clubs on the move and Manchester United also looking open for business, Ugarte has emerged as one of the key midfield figures to keep an eye on ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
