The third round of the Texas Open was suspended until Sunday due to bad weather.

Scotsman Robert McIntyre saw his lead over partner Ludvig Aberg cut from four to two strokes through six holes when play was interrupted by a rainstorm at a PGA Tour event.

The delay was extended to six hours, and the decision to suspend the match was finally made at 4:55 p.m. local time.

McIntyre shot an opening 66 with a 64 and entered Saturday with a commanding lead.

He got off to a solid start in the third round with a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole to reach 15 under, while Ryder Cup teammate Aberg also birdied the first two holes to tie McIntyre on the fifth.

Matt Wallace moved into third place with two eagles, improving from seven under to 14th place and two strokes back.

Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune is also at 11 under par, and Britain’s Marco Penge has birdied six holes in a row to move into a share of fifth place with one stroke behind.

The event is the final preparation for next week’s Masters at Augusta, with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy among the players who chose not to play in San Antonio.
