        • De Zerbi gives Tottenham youngster ‘chance to impress’ on key terms
  • Latest information on Guglielmo Vicario transfer
  • Vicario’s salary and transfer fee

Fabrizio Romano has shared an update contrary to recent reports regarding the future of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi will finalize his coaching staff this week and his next job will be to assess the squad ahead of the busy summer transfer window.

The Italians will be allowed to bring two members of staff to north London, with Marcatilio Marcatillii and Marcello Quinto joining as fitness coach and senior professional development stage coach respectively.

Marcatilli has been with De Zerbi for years, first working together in Foggia, Italy, in 2015. Meanwhile, Quint will be reunited with De Zerbi at Tottenham after they were together at Brighton and Marseille.

The whole team got a fresh start under the Italian coach.

Spurs have announced that assistant Bruno Salter, who joined last month following the arrival of Igor Tudor, will remain alongside summer signings Andreas Georgsson, Cameron Campbell and Fabian Otte.

Dean Brill and Stuart Lewis, who have supported the first team this season after being part of Tottenham’s youth coaching system, will continue in their roles.

De Zerbi and his staff have seven games left in the Premier League to not only save the club from relegation, but also decide who to keep next season.

Latest information on Guglielmo Vicario transfer

Vicario has been heavily linked with a departure in recent months, with rumors intensifying after he was dropped and then recalled by manager Igor Tudor in dramatic circumstances.

The 29-year-old, who joined Tottenham for around £17 million three years ago, is reported to have agreed personal terms to join Inter, with the transfer fee between the clubs yet to be determined.

Romano shared different information on his YouTube channel, making it clear that while the conversations were positive, nothing was agreed.

He said that while Vicario was likely to leave, he was just one of several targets on Inter’s shortlist, meaning reports of a contract agreement had gone too far.

“There are already negotiations between Vicario’s camp and Inter, very positive conversations, and I can say that Vicario is opening the door.

“Inter are working on this deal, but it’s not finished, it’s not finished, it’s not finalized, nothing has been agreed between the clubs yet.

“Conversations with the player’s camp have been positive, Inter manager Piero Ausilio visited London a few weeks ago and started dialogue, so relations with the camp are very good.”

Vicario’s salary and transfer fee

Rumor has it that Inter will have to pay Vicario a similar fee to the one that brought him to London in the first place (€20m/£17m), and if De Zerbi doesn’t like the goalkeeper, it might make sense for Tottenham to cash in while they have the chance, as his contract is due to expire in 2028.

Although the goalkeeper is not one of Tottenham’s highest earners, he would still write off his £75,000-a-week wage (click for full list) and perhaps open the door for Antonin Kinski.

De Zerbi prefers goalkeepers who can easily pass from the back with both feet, and that is the Czech goalkeeper’s strength, although he still needs to overcome his demons after his Champions League heartbreak under Tudor.
