  • Rangers prepare for end of season
        • The next Kemar Roof could head to the Rangers this summer.
  • Rangers plan to say goodbye to senior defender

Rangers will bid farewell to several players in Danny Rolle’s first summer transfer window at Ibrox.

Rangers prepare for end of season

Roll said the team’s rise in the standings was thanks to “months of development” as they prepare for a tough showdown in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Rangers were eight points behind Celtic and 13 points behind Hearts when Rolle replaced Russell Martin in October, but have since moved up to second place and are now just one point behind the Jambos.

Rohr’s side have five games remaining and will be aiming to claim the league title, which seemed almost unthinkable at the start of the season.

The 36-year-old said: “I think you can see the group growing more and more, but this is not just a week’s result. I think this is the result of three or four months of growth.”

“We haven’t reached the end yet and this is also good, but I like to see that we understand more. We can also switch shapes faster now. This is what we have.”

“The last five games will be about tactics, but the most important thing is to have the right emotions.”

Rangers’ next game is against fourth-placed Motherwell at Ibrox on Sunday.

Motherwell are without a win in five games and are lagging in the race for European football, but Roll expects it to be a tough battle.

The next Kemar Roof could head to the Rangers this summer.

Rangers could have the upper hand in the race to sign Ibrox’s next Roofe.

“Motherwell are coming and they’re going to want to play a lot of passing football. It’s a demanding game,” he said.

“We have grown in belief and as you can see in our pressing moments, if we believe in our pressing we have a chance to win the ball.

“If you stay half-half and you don’t really know anything, you arrive too late and you don’t connect. This is something we have to improve on and we will and have done so in the past, but let’s move on to the next game. This is an important game.”

Rangers plan to say goodbye to senior defender

Rohr’s work with the team he took over has been very impressive and once the campaign is over his next move will be to improve the squad to the German’s liking.

According to Reid Rangers, he has certainly done enough to earn the support of the owners, but first the team is expected to be wiped out.

One player expected to leave is Ben Davies, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The former Preston and Liverpool defender spent this season on loan at Oxford United but has no plans to rejoin the team when he returns.

Davies played 58 times at Ibrox and had a solid performance for the Gers, but reports suggest that fellow loanee Leon King will be allowed to leave for free.

The Rangers’ next task is deciding on the departure of James Tavanier.
