  • Romano confirms Iraola is open to joining Manchester United
  • Can Iraola get the Red Devils back on track?

Manchester United have been desperately searching for long-term stability.

The Red Devils will be looking for a permanent manager at the end of the season, with Michael Carrick likely to be the favorite to take the job, but they are also considering other options on the market.

Following troubles under former managers Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, the Premier League giants are currently looking to avoid the mistakes they made in the past, but are prepared to take the time to fully assess their options before making a decision.

A very interesting candidate has emerged from the south coast, with the sporting world watching closely at clubs led by figures such as Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox. That’s Andoni Iraola, the mastermind behind Bournemouth’s departure.

Iraora’s name has suddenly become a hot topic.

The 43-year-old Spaniard, who has confirmed he will leave Bournemouth when his contract expires at the end of the season, is arguably the hottest managerial free agent on the market.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently admitted that he is adamantly “open” to Iraola taking the reins at Man United, although formal negotiations have not officially begun.

Romano said on his Youtube channel:

“Man United will be deciding on a permanent manager between now and the end of the season, but at this point we do not know whether Man United are in talks with Andoni Iraola.”

“If you ask me, ‘Does Andoni Iraola want to be the next manager of Manchester United?’ I hear he would definitely accept it. But nothing more is available at the moment. ”

“Let’s see what decision Manchester United make regarding Michael Carrick. But the sentiment around him remains optimistic and positive.”

And why wouldn’t United consider it? Iraora did a miraculous job at the Cherries.

Despite losing key players such as Antoine Semenho, Milos Kerkes and Dean Huyssen, Bournemouth are currently unbeaten in 12 league games.

Iraola brings an energetic and relentlessly attacking pressing system that feels tailor-made for the modern Premier League.

Tactically speaking, his vertical, high-tempo style is a significant upgrade over Carrick’s more cautious approach, providing a clear, structured identity that United fans have been craving for a decade.

While securing a lucrative Champions League spot is the immediate priority, what is really important for INEOS is establishing a long-term vision.

Carrick may have the club’s DNA running through his veins, but Iraola has a modern tactical blueprint that could finally awaken the sleeping giant.
