Chelsea remain interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki at the end of the season.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, they are in ongoing discussions with the player about a possible transfer. Last week, new negotiations took place between Chelsea management and the player’s agent. It remains to be seen whether they will also make a formal offer to Sunderland. Chelsea won’t want to lose the 21-year-old defensive midfielder too easily and Chelsea may have to pay a premium.

Noah Sadiki did well in England

Sadiki has performed very well in the Premier League since joining Sunderland and there is no doubt that he is good enough for a big club like Chelsea.

The Blues need more quality in the middle of the park and the 21-year-old could be a great addition. However, his arrival will surely mean the end of Romeo Lavia. The former Southampton midfielder has failed to live up to expectations since joining the club and has been plagued by lingering injury problems. Chelsea could sack him in the summer and replace him with the Sunderland star.

Sadiki could dream of moving to Chelsea

Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the 21-year-old will no doubt want to compete with them at the highest level. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a contract.

Chelsea are aiming to qualify for the Champions League next season. It will be interesting to see if they can finish the season with a good result and secure a spot within the top five.

Chelsea want to fight for big trophies and need to strengthen their defence. Signing another quality defensive midfielder would be a wise move. The 21-year-old will add more defensive ability, strength and physicality in the middle of the park. He will be able to form a solid partnership with Moises Caicedo.

Sadiki has also been linked with a move to Arsenal or Tottenham.
