Tottenham Hotspur are not resting on their laurels, but they have rediscovered their fighting spirit and have won back-to-back Premier League titles, lifting themselves out of the relegation zone at the expense of West Ham United.
3 games left. There is still a long way to go. In a relegation battle like this one, fortunes can change in an instant, and while Roberto De Zerbi is doing a great job in north London, there’s not much that can be done about Spurs’ excessive injury problems.
There is no doubt that Tottenham have improved, but this game is a close call and De Zerbi will have to navigate an alarming number of injuries that show no signs of abating.
Latest Spurs injury news
Tottenham have had too many injuries in recent years. Honestly, this is pretty incredible. Admittedly, this is hard to believe, and it’s not far-fetched to argue that without so many setbacks, this team would never have been on the brink of a relegation battle.
Tottenham have lost Xavi Simmons and Dominic Solanke in recent weeks, with each forward going down at key points in the season.
That made the big win at Aston Villa all the more memorable, with Conor Gallagher finally developing into an all-action midfield leader and Richarlison using his talismanic qualities in the final third to seal the visitors’ stunning win.

Tottenham have a lot of injuries, but there are certainly signs of life in this team. Some of Spurs’ players who have struggled the most are finally making the big shift, led by new Spurs boss Lucas Moura.
De Zerbi brings gold to Spurs’ new signing Lucas
Lucas was never Tottenham’s most talented forward, but he is fondly remembered for some iconic moments and a tireless and tireless work ethic.
Prior to Spurs, he played for Paris Saint-Germain, with the Londoners ultimately replacing the Brazilian with Randal Kolo Muani, who is on loan from the French capital and has struggled to find consistency all season.
But now Kolo Muani is finally starting to kick into gear at the perfect time, and his performance against Aston Villa is evidence of a player who embraces the fight, winning many duels and showing off his fleet footwork with a number of darts down the right channel.
Kolo Muani joined the club last summer and there was much optimism as he returned from a productive loan spell with Juventus in Italy.
But that’s not the case yet. He struggled for most of the season, scoring just one goal in the Premier League.
But given that he’s now on his feet and likely to play a central role in the final few weeks (due to the team’s lack of options), there’s a good chance he could become the new Lucas.
Remarkably, Harry Kane was absent for his memorable return and Moura stepped up in his absence, scoring not once, not twice, but three times on one of the best nights in the club’s history.
With a number of injured players currently bedeviling De Zerbi’s Tottenham side, Kolo Muani has emerged as an unlikely source of inspiration, producing perhaps his best performance of the season against Villa.

Despite failing to score or assist, the France international impressed throughout the game and showed he can contribute to the fightback against the danger zone at the foot of the Premier League table.
Kolo Muani will not be wearing a Tottenham shirt next season, but he remains part of the outfit’s comeback bid. He still has cult status and therefore could depart with a reputation similar to Lucas before him.
